BIO

Born in Norfolk, I grew up spending much time (and the long summer holidays which seem to go on forever in childhood) messing around at the beach on the spectacular North-Norfolk coast.

Roll-on my teenage years and after embarking on an excellent Diploma in Photography at the local college - I would meet the local prolific landscape photographer & fine printer John T. Hansell, who became an inspiration and helped form the passion I still have to this day with his renowned masterclasses, which also reignited my love for the coast where I spent many days becoming lost amongst the sand dunes with a roll of black & white film and an old twin-lens-reflex, meticulously learning the art of composition and framing, before carefully processing them up and then printing them in the darkroom... often getting lost too!

During this period I won a handful of national awards, including: a Merit in Fujifilm Student Awards, the annual Kentmere Award, and a Merit in the Metro Student Awards. These helped me gain my first job in the darkroom as a fine-printer for Popperfoto (a historical & sports photographic library, now owned by Getty) in Northampton, where I had the pleasure of working alongside Monte Fresco, the Fleet Street legend, as well as printing (often unseen) images of the Beatles, iconic sporting moments and Herbert Ponting glass-plates from Captain Scott's famous Antartica expedition.

After this period and a stint of concert photography (which also gained the attention of the NME) - I began my BA Degree in Cambridge, which led me into assisting various advertising & commercial photographers in & around London, upon graduating in 2004.

Since then I've been a busy commercial photographer and filmmaker, working for a broad range of clients including numerous FTSE rated companies all over the UK, and overseas as well.

During which time I've also been shortlisted in the prestigious AOP Awards, with a series of urbanscape images shot in Queensland, Australia.

I now live just outside of Cambridge with my wife Clare, and two very spirited boys.
